The psychology resource information system was designed to serve the public and to serve the professional psychology community, along with those in the allied behavioral health professions.
Psyris includes links to relevant information, and most importantly, a custom search engine that serves as a referral directory, connecting the public with providers. In general, individuals might have more luck finding a therapist by searching the entire web, but the custom search engine narrows the results down to actual practitioners. A general web search will return a substantial number of irrelevant results.
